2. Hunting Areas

Our outfitter in Tanzania has built its reputation, amongst other thing, based on the prime hunting areas they have been operating for many years, where millions of animals roam free and wild. We are privilege to have access to three well differentiated hunting areas through our partner.

The first area is the Rungwa Mpera, nestled in the heart of the Rungwa Kizigo Game Reserve in western Tanzania. With 4,000 sqkm and an oasis for buffalo and lions amongst other species, this is without any doubt one of the largest and most pristine hunting areas in Tanzania.

The pinnacle of East African style safaris takes place in the Selous Game Reserve, where our second hunting area is located. The Selous Game Reserve, the largest in the world, encompasses 54,000 sqkm of Africa’s most unspoilt wilderness. The block we hunt in, K1, is located on the banks of the mighty Kilombero River being a paradise for species such as hippo and croc, although buffalos are also found in thousands.

Finally, our Masailand block is just 2 hours north from Arusha and close to Tarangire National Park, offering some of the finest hunting in Africa. There are simply no other areas in Northern Tanzania that produce the quality of lion and buffalo that we are able to get every year. It is not rare to shoot big manned lion, monster leopards and other endemic species from northern Tanzania. Our average buffalos are in the range of the 40” although we also take exceptional old individuals well over 48”.
